The Beijing subway vlog (so good) giving full "lonely boy"vibes, I am definitely overthinking this but perhaps it's paying homage to Dan Humphrey (another New Yorker native like Timothee) who on his commute from UES to Brooklyn imagines his inevitable glory as a celebrated writer, then vlog shot cuts in a dramatic revelation..to Sweet Tea at his movie premier signing for fans.
It's funny that him just appearing, doing something as ordinary as selling tofu, ended up landing more deeply than a polished promo. It says a lot about what audiences respond to now
There is this video of him in his suite at the (I think) Shangrila in Shanghai & they bring him a breakfast tray for him & his wife to sample. They seem to have no idea what anything is or how to eat it and he grabs a 油條 and slathers it with jam. It was quite something. I kind of felt like someone had deliberately sabotaged him cos it was a bit weird that no one walked them through the food …

So when I was watching all the chalamet stuff I was amazed at how well he did especially compared with Brody !
